Key Matchup: LeBron James vs Kevin Durant

The two best players in the NBA Finals and possibly in the NBA will go head to head and we should see them both guarding one another. LeBron has been playing some of the best basketball of his playoff career this postseason and he should give the Warriors all sorts of problems. Golden State is fortunate to have guys who can contain LeBron such as Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, and Kevin Durant. Durant has been the most efficient scorer in the playoffs and his defense has been very good when engaged. If the Warriors can slow down and LeBron and have Durant outplay him then Cleveland will virtually no shot at beating the Warriors.

X-Factor for Golden State: Draymond Green

Green was arguably the most important player in last years NBA Finals as it was his suspension that started the Cavaliers comeback from a 3-1 deficit. Should Green play at that same effective level on both ends and avoid getting in serious trouble then Cleveland’s already tough task will become ever tougher.

X-Factor for Cleveland: Kevin Love

Love seems to have finally figured out his role and its lead to the forward looking dominant in the postseason. If Love can score and shoot effectively from three, the Cavaliers offense is just as good if not better than the Warriors, however, his defense will have to be improved for Cleveland to slow down Golden State’s high powered attack.

Analysis: The two best teams in the NBA meet again for the third straight NBA Finals. You have the last 5 NBA MVP Winners, one of the games all-time greats, one of the best postseason starts, and so much more in this series. The Cavs and Warriors have gone a combined 24-1 so far in this postseason as they will both look to top last years amazing finals that featured Cleveland coming back from a 3-1 deficit. Cleveland has benefited from playing easier teams but the Warriors also played an easier schedule due to injuries. The Warriors have been so amazing all season its hard to see the Cavaliers pulling the upset two years in a row. Can Cleveland stop Durant, Curry, Thompson, and Green while at the same time finding ways to attack one of the NBA top defenses? Its hard to see LeBron being able to top last years finals but that will probably be what it takes for Cleveland to win.
